Bronc Riding School

March 20-22, 2020

About

Bareback and Saddle Bronc Riding School is 3 days of intensive training and is designed for young men who want to gain experience and fine tune their riding techniques in bareback riding or saddle bronc riding. The minimum age to attend this school is 12 years old.

During this school, students will be taught proper safety and riding techniques in two different classes. Ages 12-14 will be in the mechanical class, and ages 15+ will be in the livestock class. This school is a great way for students to fine tune their riding techniques before rodeo season! Biblical teaching sessions with Ronnie Moyer will be held several times each day.

Spoon Creek is partnering with the Fort Scott community college rodeo team and their coach, Chad Cross, to present collegiate level instruction in rough stock events. Chad Cross had been the Head Rodeo Coach  at Fort Scott Community College since 1996 and has twice been awarded Coach of the Year in the Central Plains Region in addition to being the 2015 National NIRA Coach of the Year.

Classes & Stock

The mechanical class is for beginners and riders under the age of 15, focused on learning the fundamentals and techniques of bronc riding including spending time on the mechanical bucking machines.

The livestock class is for riders ages 15+ and will help students fine-tune their riding techniques in bareback and saddle bronc riding.

Stock is provided by Filmore Livestock Company from Council Grove, KS. Students will be matched to an animal according to their skill level, as determined by their instructor. Suitable stock is provided for beginners, as well as more advanced riders.
